Nomination Information

AES Lifetime Achievement Award

The AES Lifetime Achievement Award is given for exceptional career contributions to the fields of Electrophoresis, Electrokinetics, and related areas. One award is presented every year at the AES Annual Meeting. The recipient of the award will receive a plaque, a certificate of lifetime membership in the society, and one complementary registration to the annual meeting where the award will be presented.

 

All members of the AES Electrophoresis Society are encouraged to submit a nomination. The nominator must be a member of the society at the time of nomination. The nomination consists of 1) nominator name and contact info, 2) a one-page nomination letter, and 3) current contact information for the candidate. Self-nominations are not allowed.

 

Nominations must be submitted electronically to the Chair of the Awards Committee.

 

Deadline for nomination is December 1st each year, the awardee will be recognized during the AES annual meeting at the SciX Conference the following year.

AES MID-CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The AES Mid-Career Award is given for exceptional contributions to the field of electrophoresis, electrokinetics, and related areas by an individual who is currently in the middle of their career.

  • Nominees in academia must have been promoted to a tenured/associate professor rank or equivalent within the last 10 years

  • Nominees working in government or industry must be between 10 and 20 years away from their terminal degree

 

One award is presented every year at the SciX Meeting. The recipient of the award will receive a plaque, a one-year membership in the society, and one complementary registration to the SCIX meeting.

AES DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

The AES Electrophoresis Society Distinguished Service Award honors individuals that have had significant long-term involvement with the society and made a considerable effort toward its success and growth. Typically, that person will have served with excellence in many different capacities and will have contributed to the continuing success of the society through consistent dedication.

Typically, one award is presented every other year. The Awards Committee can present additional awards as necessary upon a formal request from the president. The Distinguished Service Award is presented at the AES Annual Meeting. The recipient of the award will receive one complementary registration for the annual meeting where the award will be presented, a plaque, and a certificate of lifetime membership in the society.

AES BLUE FINGERS STUDENT AWARD

The AES Student Award recognizes the most outstanding student paper submitted to the AES Annual Conference by a graduate student at the time of application. The award recipient needs to be an AES member and will receive a $500 cash award.

 

In order for their presentation to be considered for the AES ‘Blue Fingers’ Student Award, students should submit their abstract as an oral type, oral-or-poster type, or a poster type to an AES session during the SciX open call for abstracts. The awardee will give a 20 minute oral presentation at the AES Annual Conference.

The application deadline is August 15th. The awardee will be recognized during the AES annual meeting at the SciX Conference the same year.
